The problem
Last-mile delivery in Zimbabwe is constrained by unreliable addresses, limited courier coverage outside major cities, and the cost of door-to-door drops. Senders and receivers needed an asynchronous, secure way to hand off parcels, usable from a smartphone, robust over patchy connectivity, and operable by non-technical kiosk staff.
What we built
BlitzTech designed and built ZIMPUDO end-to-end: a Spring Boot 3 backend service, a Flutter mobile app and web frontend for senders / receivers, STM32-based smart locker hardware with secure compartment control and tamper detection, and Kotlin-based kiosk software running on Android 7 hardware. The platform handles label generation, payment, courier hand-off, and asynchronous pickup with one-time codes.

Outcome
Live and operating in Zimbabwe at zimpudo.com, a maker-built, locally-engineered alternative to imported smart-locker systems.
