Inaugural African edition of the ITU Robotics for Good Youth Challenge. Held at Harare Institute of Technology on 15 January 2025, themed Disaster Response. Twenty teams competed across Junior and Senior divisions.
The 2024-2025 Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Zimbabwe was the first African national qualifier of the ITU Robotics for Good Youth Challenge, feeding the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva. BlitzTech provided the equipment, the planning advisory, and the event-day setup and dismantling under Omorfo Tech Labs' national chapter hosting. Hon Tatenda Mavetera (Minister of ICT, Postal & Courier Services Zimbabwe) attended the Geneva summit alongside the Zimbabwean winning teams.
Outcomes
Twenty teams competed across Junior and Senior divisions. The Junior winners Zimbotron Jnr 08 and Senior winners Zimbotron_06 travelled to the AI for Good Global Summit 2025 in Geneva, alongside the Minister of ICT.
