When Zimbotron_06 and Zimbotron Jnr 08 stepped onto the Youth Stage at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva in July 2025, they did so as the first African teams to qualify for the Grand Finale. They were joined by the Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services Zimbabwe, who delivered a panel discussion on Zimbabwean applications of AI in agriculture and beyond.
This is what international representation looks like for a country whose tech sector has been fighting to be seen for decades.
BlitzTech Electronics was proud to provide the competition equipment, technical advisory, and logistical framework, through national chapter host Omorfo Tech Labs, that made the Zimbabwe qualifying event possible. Watching our students network with ITU dignitaries, exhibit at the Youth Zone, and pitch their projects to a global audience felt like exactly the right outcome for the work we put in.
**What our students gained at Geneva:**
- A Grand Finale ticket to the AI for Good Global Summit 2025
- Gold Passes for all team members and mentors
- A Youth Zone exhibition booth
- A pitching slot on the Youth Stage
- UN networking access
- Global media coverage
